Remember When Zedd Took Over the Which Stage at Bonnaroo 2014!!!

Zedd managed to put on a hell of a rave on the farm this year! With a light show filled with lasers and strobe lights, all Bonnaroovians raved through out the set and sung along to Zedds popular mix to Clarity! Check it out here and pump up your thursday!

Tip Thursday

Food. It's what makes the heart happy. At Bonnaroo you can except a variety of options from gyros, food trucks, southern barbecue, pizza and even Chinese food. Bonnaroo does a good job of giving you options to choose from. However eating at Bonnaroo can be pricey at times. The average meal can run you about 10 - 13 dollars. Multiply this by 2 for each day you are at festival and it can add up. 

If you are on a budget there are other ways to stay full. One of the cheapest alternatives when it comes to eating at Bonnaroo is simply bringing a grill! Since you are in the spirit of camping when you are on the farm, what better than a homemade meal!? Bonnaroo allows you to bring a grill as long as it uses propane. If you get lucky you they'll let you pass with a charcoal grill. (I got lucky and they let my charcoal grill slide.) 

It's best to make a grocery run before you arrive at the festival and chip in with friends  to save money. When buying produce or meat, keep in mind that most food must remain refrigerated or cold. Buy plenty of ice to last you the first 2 days at least. Ice can also be purchased at the festival. After the 2 days you simply restock with ice at the festival if you want to keep your food and beverages cold. 

Lastly, Make Sure To Plan Your meals. When buying food make sure what you buy does not get spoiled quick. Breakfast is always important so if you enjoy eggs and bacon when you wake up, make sure you buy pans or small grills to cook on. A good breakfast in the morning at Bonnaroo plays a big role when it comes to surviving the day. 

Aside from staying hydrated at Bonnaroo, being well fed and nourished is a must. Do not plan on not eating for a day there because it can end poorly. With scorching temperatures your health should be your first priority. 

Last but not least, always buy extra food because you never know what new friends you'll make on the farm - and what better way to start a friendship over a meal on the farm. After all remember to radiate positivity my friends! 

Halloween On The Farm

Friday the 13th at Bonnaroo 

   Bonnaroo brings all the fun and creative people together, and what holiday does every fun and creative person love? Well if you thought Election Day, I am sorry but you are at the wrong blog. The correct answer is Halloween! The best thing about Halloween is being able to be anyone you want to be. 

   This year on the Farm, Bonnaroo offered a costume party in honor of the fact that coincidentally the festival fell on Friday the 13th. There were several costume contests including funniest, scariest, and most creative. Nothing gets better than a costume party. A majority of festival goers do dress up and participate in the contest. Contest winners took home tickets to next years Bonnaroo, not to shabby if you ask me.

Planning Your Bonnaroo Act List

   As your Bonnaroo adventure approaches one thing you look forward to the most, is the festival line up. With surprise artist's in the past such as Elton John, Paul McCartney, Kanye West, and Arctic Monkeys you never know who's going to be down at the farm!
   With the hundred's of acts that are offered, you never know where to begin and who to watch. Most set's last from an hour to 2 hours depending on how big the artist is. Bonnaroo enjoy's confusing you with the name of their stages. These stages include the "What Stage", "Which Stage", "That Tent", "This Tent" and "The Other Tent". This can lead to confusion amongst your group when you tell your friend "Hey I'll meet you at The Other Tent" when in reality you mean the a specific tent. Usually during the day you will find a lot of up and coming artists who are not as mainstream. And to be honest these act's are usually much more entertaining than the mainstream acts.
   At times you begin to see that certain set's overlap each other and are found on different stages throughout Centeroo. Mainstream headliners usually play at night on the "What Stage". This leads you to make one of the toughest decisions a festival goer always has to deal with. You will always find yourself asking "Do I leave this show early to catch this one or should I skip this artist?" At the end of the day it's a risk everyone has to take.
   Overall follow your instincts, and follow your heart to the beat of the song! If there is a specific artist you are dying to see, go out and get there early, even if you have to do it alone! Many times you'll run into another festival goer who abandons their group to see the same artist you want to see. And that there is how new friendships begin!

Sam Smith 

   Sam Smith took over Bonnaroo this year and did exactly what he's best at! Sam Smith also managed to do a guest appearance when Disclosure came out to perform Latch! You never know what can happen at Bonnaroo and who's going to show up! Sam Smith was definitely a performance to remember! 

Tip Tuesday

Tip #2: How to beat the heat and stay cool!

   Aside from staying hydrated at Bonnaroo, staying cool is also crucial! With the high temperatures, the sun beating down and the thousands of people around you, Bonnaroo isn't exactly paradise. There are multiple ways to stay fresh and stay cool!

Bonnaroo Cinema

   You can always seek refuge and expect a cool experience when you visit Bonnaroo Cinema. The theater tent offers seating and air condition on blast the 24 hours. The cinema screens a variety of documentaries, classic movies, new movies and a bunch of indie films. Lines do tend to get long and crowded so it is recommended that you arrive early or plan accordingly. 

Bonnaroo Salon by Garnier Fructis

   Bonnaroo always finds a way to put a smile on your face and make your heart content. Nothing in this world beats the feeling of getting a nice clean hair wash. After dealing with humidity, dirt, mud and smoke you may feel sticky and disgusting. But Bonnaroo's Salon definitely saves the day! Garnier Fructis sponsors the salon and provides a free hair wash! They demonstrate their products and also bring you back to life! Also these lines tend to be very chaotic and long. Early bird catches the worm! 

The Fountain

   You can always count on staying cool at the fountain which is found in the center of Bonnaroo! The fountain uses recycled water and is a perfect place to stay cool and make new friends. The fountain is pretty much the water hole where all Bonnaroovian animals gather and congregate. During the day a quick splash at the fountain is always key! At night you can find people partying near the fountain as the fountain lights up and changes colors. The mushroom fountain will be your go to when you have no where to run!

Tip #1: Water-bottle's will save your life.


     Every Tuesday I will bring you guys a new and helpful tip for surviving Bonnaroo. This weeks tip is MAKE SURE YOU BRING A WATER BOTTLE!
     In the middle of June Manchester, Tennessee can be one of the hottest, stickiest and humid places on earth. Make sure you don't let weather, ruin your awesome time at Bonnaroo. Temperatures can reach up to a scorching 110 degrees. Bonnaroo does a great job with providing 24 hour water refill stations. Make sure you take advantage of these stations because A. It is free, B. It keeps you hydrated, C. It is free!! and D. You meet a lot of cool people to strike up conversation with at these stations.
     Staying hydrated is an essential part for all Bonnaroovian's. A large number of people choose the option of buying camelback water book bags. These are great however can become quite annoying and irritating to constantly carry. From personal experience the book bag became irritating on your back and a hassle to drink from when the straw constantly leaked.
     Make sure you have some type of water at your campsite for essential necessities such as brushing teeth, washing hair, etc. If you plan on surviving the festival a water bottle will be your best friend.

What's going on guys! My name is Kevin, but most of my friends call me Chelo! Now I know what you're thinking, "Ah crap here's Chelo again writing up another blog that I really don't care about.." yeah yeah I know. However this time I promise it's much different and alot more interesting. This summer I had the opportunity and privilege to go on a life changing roadtrip to none other than the Bonnaroo Music and Art's Festival in good ol' Tennessee! This blog will not only talk about my experiences down south at the festival but also serve as a guide book to those who may contemplate on going to Bonnaroo someday in the future! With a variety of tips, suggestions, do's and dont's, musts and a collection of personal stories. This blog will give you everything you need to know before you set on your adventure to Tennessee!
